OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the dialogue are to:

Engage multi stakeholders in finding scalable solutions to transform the food system along the theme of innovation and technology. It is expected that this will result in the shaping of national pathways to sustainable food systems.

Find new ways of engagement i.e. partnerships, network aiming at expressions of intention to support these pathways.
BACKGROUND
The UN Secretary-General will convene a Food System Summit in September 2021. A step leading up to this event is the holding of a Pre-Summit on July 26-28, 2021. The UN Food System Summit aims to find game-changing solutions to transform the food system. Member states are encouraged to initiate multi-stakeholder dialogues that should take place before June.
The UN has appointed DA Secretary Dr. William D. Dar to be the lead convenor for the Philippines. The UNFSS-PH preparatory committee headed by DA Undersecretary Rodolfo Vicerra came up with ten themes aligning the five action tracks with the OneDA agriculture framework. As support to the conduct of the country-level food system dialogues, the Philippine Seed Industry Association (PSIA) and CropLife Philippines, with the support of East-West Seed and the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA), are hosting a dialogue aimed at advancing innovation to transform the food system.
